What is Cloudflare Magic Transit?
Enterprise network-layer (L3/L4) DDoS protection: our IP prefixes are announced through Cloudflare via BGP, attack traffic is scrubbed across 310+ cities, and clean traffic reaches our datacenters through GRE tunnels.
How is this different from blackholing?
Traditional hosts null-route an attacked IP — taking you offline until the attack ends. Magic Transit filters the attack and keeps legitimate traffic flowing, so your server never goes down.
What attacks does it stop?
Volumetric floods (UDP, ICMP, SYN), protocol attacks, and application-layer threats — absorbed by a network with over 100 Tbps of capacity.
Does it protect game servers?
Yes — full UDP protection covers Minecraft, Rust, ARK, FiveM, and other game protocols that HTTP-only solutions can't see.
Is it suitable for forex and trading workloads?
Yes. Mitigation happens upstream with negligible added latency, so trading bots keep their sub-5ms exchange connectivity even mid-attack.
